The Underbelly Project

Deep in the belly of New York City lies a ghost town of a subway station, where the trains don't run, but street art thrives. For the past 18 months, 103 artists have been covertly sneaking into the space to create and display their work on the dank walls of the pit.

Combining street art with spelunking, The Underbelly Project is a real collection of works that exists four stories beneath the surface of the City. But good luck finding it.

Street artists Workhorse and PAC curated the underground exhibit in an abandoned subway station, but the exact location won't be released to the public, for fear of legal repercussions. (If caught trespassing on or defacing MTA property, they could be arrested and fined.)

Serial Cut Studio

These images are from Serial Cut Studio and I find their work inspiring because it is imaginative and original in concept. Not to mention the images are high quality and excellent. They have many well known brand clients and work for a large scope of industries. Also not all their work is digital. they play about with other methods and mediums/materials

My Question Thus Far

"Does choosing a digital advertising strategy for promoting a creative campaign always equal innovative marketing success compared to the traditional mediums?"

Website design

The welcome image or website under construction page: ME!!! :D

I attempted to merge the gritty, grungy urban style with traditional artwork. Actually, I'm quite please with the background design. Inspired by a tutorial found on the internet but hey they are there to be used. So even though I believe I managed to take an existing image style and adapt it to my own art. As seen below:

the beginnings of my web banner

So the creative juices has really started flowing after the slight stall during pitch week. I have begun focusing on my website designs. Thinking about what pages to include and the navigation to them. So first things first:

I have been experimenting slightly with the actual project name so people do not immediately just assume it stands for University or Abertay Dundee

Welcome to Creativity...? :S

And so the horror that is 4th year has arrived. Months of hard work, mountains of written and desperately trying to figure out a creative project with an interesting dissertation question. Yet it is a challenge that I am looking forward to because for once it is completely up to my idea without a brief.

My Inspiration:

Bank of Imagination
Behind most blocks there is an "imagination" posted by different people.
You can add your own thoughts to a certain post or imagines. The animation reminds me of connect four.

FOUND magazine

The beauty of this site sparked the initial concept for my project. Here people can upload randomly found notes or images to share with the site's viewers.

Labuat

The site allows the cursor to act as a paint brush with added animation to be unleashed at certian points of the song. It is amazing how that the person feels although they are contributing to the creative flow of the piece

Infinite OZ
This website is a relaxing journey through the imaginative worlds of 9 different artists. with simple animation and brilliant scenery it is hard not to drift of to the land of OZ yourself.
