For the website: Interactive map
I was thinking, to promote a stronger sense of community within the website, that there should be an interactive map of the city so people can pinpoint the location of the latest piece of advertising art or media. Like Flickr where you can upload images on a map and others can leave comments.

Augmented reality
one small step for man, one giant leap for mobile technology.
"Augmented Reality (AR) is the phenomenon adding virtual elements into our physical reality. These additions are viewable by pointing your contemporary smartphone to the world around you. The phone knows where you are (because of GPS) and with this data it connects to the internet to get the relevant images, visuals, 3D shapes and it puts them into your view.
‘AR’ technology allows anyone to (re-)shape anything, anywhere!"
Skeleton Keys to New York
The city-wide security breach is part of the public art project Key to the City. Anyone can simply retrieve free keys at a kiosk in Times Square, and those keys unlock 24 locations across the city's five boroughs, which are listed on the Key to the City website. These locations include secret gardens, hidden rooms, and tiny electrical panels.
Since it launched last Thursday, hundreds of New Yorkers have already participated in the large-scale scavenger hunt, which borrows its name from the symbolic welcoming gesture relegated to visiting dignitaries and heads of state. The piece was conceived by Honduran-born artist Paul RamÃrez Jonas, who has worked with keys before, to symbolize ownership and civic pride.
Urban Art
This urban artwork is by "Chewie" is brilliant - it mixes real world environment with cartoon characters. Even though the style itself is average it works well with the urban canvas. I enjoy the concept of using the city building walls to artistically express yourself without resorting to the typical graffiti mess. These unique examples of artists using the environment around them inspires my own project. bring some simple and unexpected joy to people's everyday.

Dead Drops
A new project I have discover which involves a sense of cyber community is Dead Drops. USB sticks cemented into walls around New York city. Allowing anyone with a laptop can use it and share files, as an anonymous, offline, peer to peer file-sharing network in public space. By ‘injecting’ USB flash drives into walls, buildings and curbs accessable to anybody in public space.

I have been looking also at data visualisation examples from the internet. these interesting images help organise and display information in unique and constructive manner. i wonder if this could be applied to my website for displaying the individuals' profile info and work

I feel that the this approach might be best for interactivity on touch screen phones
Examples of existing interactive art galleries online

I began researching the current online media galle
ries and I was extremely disapp
ointed at the results. most of them were aimed at children or highly abstract. there is no real interactively and deviantart, youtube and CG Society are the best examples of internet communities. people enjoy that anyone can post their work and perhaps receive critique on their work but my main issue wwith these websites is the lack of exclusiveness. the amount of work which is sub standard or just wrong irritates me. SO I have resorted to inspiration from futuristic based movies for innovative interaction for touch phones and data visualisa
tion.
